ain't that the truth. my biggest mistake was getting bored enough to try raiding a port in Florida in my IXC. Can't remember which port exactly but I think it was Miami. When I saw that "most" of the units guarding the entrance were MTBs, which don't have hydrophones, I figured it would be easy. Then the four-stackers showed up...

The problem with attacking ports isn't that the water in the harbor is shallow, it's that the water around it is too!

Another major mistake of mine: Bothering to sail to New Zealand waters. Even in Fifi's excellent NYGM, which has a great campaign, there wasn't very interesting traffic there. I do think going to the Far East in general has its moments. But the trip from Penang to the Cook Strait just isn't worth your time.

Yes, that’s true… I know NYGM far East campaign should need some rework … playing it from Bordeaux, best is to stay around South Africa up to Madagascar.
But adding plenty new interesting ships/convoys further, will overload an already heavy campaign file…
But there are some ships/convoys up to Australia and NZ in the existing files

Beaching my self in high Time compression on a stormy night, on a tiny, TINY island just NW of Scotland, you have to zoom right in to the map to see it. IRL its called 'North Rona' i think.

Are you sure it wasn't Twatt in the Orkneys (or the Shetlands)?

There used to be an RN satellite airfield there. There's a delightful book by a dotty but very brave old RN duffer called "It's Really Quite Safe". He took great pride at one point in his official title "Commanding Officer Twatt"
