Wow.
So another steps forward as Judge, Juror, and potential Executioner after the fact. Had I been on site and ordered to do so? I'd have opened fire with no regrets as to doing my Duty. Would I step up and say "They deserved to die!" No. Did the people I did kill deserve to die? I never believed that and don't to this day. That keeps me sane. It's easy to say 'kill that whatever" Ask those who have had to do just that how it really feels. What type dreams they have. How it affects everyday of their lives. It's oh so easy to say "I'd do it!" It's not so easy to live with. |

Whenever I see, hear, or read about groups or individuals who are normally associated with viewpoints generally perceived as 'establishment' or 'conservative' seemingly taking a strong, public stand against an 'establishment', 'conservative' presidential administration and/or its policies and/or ideals, I am reminded of what happened after the Kent State killings in 1970, when the Ohio National guard gunned down student anti-Vietnam War protesters; there was a massive tidal swing by persons and entities tthat had previously wholeheartedly supported the was and Nixon against both the war and the President; it was the proverbial "straw that broke the camel's back"; I recall listening to the radio news reports here in LA about all the very strange changes that suddenly happened; the then ultra-conservative, rich, white University of Southern California, not at all a hot bed of student protest (in LA, that title went to UCLA), immediately got active in organizing against the war; the university radio station began collaborating with their counterparts at arch-rival UCLA to aid in coordinating the protests following the Kent State killings; I particularly remember the students who ran the switchboards and manned the recruiting tables being stunned when hardhat construction workers from the nearby downtown and business executives alike showed up amongst the expected student and other young people signing up to aid the protests; the reason given by those fathers who signed up was simple: they either had children who were at universities and colleges and they feared for their safety and there were fathers who had sons who were in the military, many of them in Vietnam, who feared for their sons safety, and both those sets of fathers knew that ending the war was the quickest way to end the killing of their kids; the war had become unbearably senseless and party politics and/or political philosophies were no longer able to justify support of a patently false narrative from Washington DC. it took the killing of those students to wake up the US to see the emperor had no clothes... The lawless siege of the Capitol 6 Jan seems to be the straw that has broken the back of GOP and conservative complacency about the insane and idiotic behavior of Queen Trump; from Trump's "Braveheart' wannabe moment on Wednesday morning when he went out and rallied his 'troops' and exhorted them to a frenzy (note along the way that, although he hinted that he would 'be there' with them, he was noticeably absent and hunkered down in his bunker while they took the brunt for his exhortations) to the mealy-mouthed, self-serving shell of a human, standing there looking like, oh, how to put it, - "weak", "pathetic", "disgusting", - and acting like a baby, while making his statement after the riot, again whining about his insane claims of 'victory', there was very little the GOP could do to undo the damage Trump has now inflicted on the party; the now own Trump fully and they are looking at a long, long period of major damage control in the near and far future; if they thought the uphill slog was tough after Nixon and Watergate, they just now are approaching the foothills of an Everest of a slog... Some of the Trump apologists/loyalist will, no doubt, whine and whimper and moan about how those how have now turned their backs on the whole Trump fiasco are "traitors" or "RINOs" or fair-weather fellows, but, truth be told, an awful lot of them really put up with a lot of abuse, more than most would reasonably tolerate, to back the play of Trump, and he has repaid them by crapping all over what they would normally be trying to uphold as decent American values and, like Howard Beale, they are "as mad as hell and they are not going to take it anymore"... Why are the corporations and business groups now publicly coming out very publicly and calling for the immediate removal of Trump? they realize, much like the fathers of those slaughtered students in 1970, that the party, both politically and as as an individual, 'running' things in the Oval office has gone beyond the pale and now presents a "clear and present danger" to the country and its interests, not to mention the businesses' interests, and the idea of having that idiotic whack job calling the shots for the next two weeks is something they would rather not have to deal with; given how erratic, nonsensical, unhinged, and perilous Trump's behavior has been over the past fours years, and given how that behavior has not attenuated but has only grown worse in that time, can it reasonably and sanely be assumed a cornered, besieged, and wholly unpredictable Trump will lay low and do nothing for the next two weeks? That with the power, which he has recklessly weilded in the past, won't become his 'final refuge' and that he will attempt to do something to assure that if he goes down he will take his 'enemies' (which, at this point, is his own party, his own apointess, and the rest of us who aren't kissing his keister) with him? he is in the position of being able to do a lot of very, very serious damage in the time he has leeft and that is why extraordinary efforts must be made to assure he is blocked in his final desth throes from hurting this counrty and its citizens... I'm kinda hoping the few adults in Trump's administartion will take a page from the palybook of those who were aroung Nixon at the end of his admninistartion: when Nixon began to descend into severe depression and drink, he, at one point, ordered, for no particular good reason, that the nuclear assests of the US be putting on war footing against the USSR; the Pentagon chiefs, alarmed at the order, went to Secretary of Stae Kissinger, who cancelled the order on his own authority, and they all decided to put in place a means of derailing any lunatic decisions Nixon might make as he deteriorated; Kissinger directed that any orders given by Nixon must first be submitted to the Secretary of State or to a few selected delegates to be vetted before they were acted upon; forutnately, Nixon's remaining time was brief and his condtion prevented him from doing any possible further damage; we can only hope someone is doing something in the White House to keep the madman away from the buttons... Once the two weeks have passed, we can all look forward to not having to be conncerned about the rantings of Trump becoming the policy of the US; he will be gone, into the hands of the courts, and on the way to being forgotten; one thing has been fully learned the emperor has no clothes and, by God, he is fugly... <O>

Unfortunately, I am.
I also swore an oath in order to wear the uniform. You don't get debriefed from the oath after you leave the service. ![]() I would be just as much of a traitor as they are if I agreed with them or tried to figure out an escape clause. This isn't jay walking or venting frustrations. This is trying to destroy the nation. ![]() |

Trump wants to pardon himself.
https://www.nytimes.com/2021/01/07/u...lf-pardon.html And while many RINOs distance themselves from Trump now, they still refuse to get rid of him. Their distancing thus means nothing, is just babble, moved air, and sound. Also, still over a hundred of these minions supported calls yesterday to nullify several state election outcomes. Mades with binders.

Well, I did not say that. Try to be accurate when accusing somebody of something. I'm not shedding a tear, that's all.

I'm not and I see absolutely no reason to be ashamed. Criminals get shot. Face it.
