Not sure if you read some of the more recent posts in this thread because this mod is no longer being actively supported.
Those of us who wish to play SH4 in the ATO, play Dark Waters.
DW is the next generation of OpM and much of DW is OpM but many of the OpM issues have been remedied as well as enhanced.
Check it out.

I worked with DW for about 2 weeks and I couldn't get past all the CTD's. I tried all the tricks I know of. I have about 10 hours of playing time in OpM without an issue. I might take another look with fresh eyes.

DW has far fewer CTDs that OM did... bringing the usual question: did you have LAA properly enabled on the SH4.exe in it, and had the Save folder been emptied prior to running the game with the mod? OM is good stuff though also, though it does have a few items of its own that might reach out and bite...

As a long time OM player just returning to sh4 for 2021, I have been testing/playing Dark Waters (DW) quite a few hours for the last 10 days or so. Dark Waters is strongly recommended.
lurker did an amazing job by creating OM <- truly an amazing one-man giant team here!
DW team standing on the shoulder of the giant, further improved the experience not only fixing bugs but overall improving the experience with additions, tweaks.

I am not affiliated in any way but as a lover of Uboat experience genuinely excited about how good OM+DW got over the years. Some of the DW improvements include more people/activity in Uboats, Uboat lighting improvements, type-identifiable ship smoke etc. (edit: frequently (every time?) deployed lifeboats!). Further details partially listed in 1st post in DW release thread. Even more information scattered across many dev posts in that thread.

Without saying anything bad about OM, I definitely encourage you to try out DW. In 2021 no need to play only the base OM as you can get OM + fixes + improvements + developer support for the same price

In the name of total transparency the only issue I encountered was "radio not working" which very well could be down to an issue on my end as I cannot see any others posting about this issue. It was an easy fix anyway (posted in DW thread in case you experience the same). Weirdly even this 'issue' was a good experience as I posted a question about it and one of the devs replied I think within the same hour (on a side note: I wish at work our commercial vendors replied that fast!).

Default Depth Problem

This is the first time for me to play OM. The problem is that, I find that the XI class submarine is out of control when it needs to dive.The submarine always stays at the depth of 33m and then it can not go ahead to rise or dive. How can I deal with it?

Are you in a Type XXI? What folder is your SH4 game installed in? Did you empty the Save folder before playing the modded game (C:\Users \UserName \Documents \SH4 by default)?

it is suggested that you de-install the OM mods and download and use the Dark Water mods.
many of the unexpected features of OM were fixed in Dark Waters.

Most likely he is trying to run DW on a resolution of 1366x768.
Edit: I tried the DW mod in 1366x768 resolution and it worked.
