For what it's worth I could never get WAC to run with the CAM-Ship activated. After deactivating it the mod runs without error but takes forever to load and I had issues with uber-Flak along with ineffectual and unreasonable Allied aircraft.

Fwiw guys, I've got the cam ship to work in GWX, stock, and a modified Rub install.
You've probably all done this, but make sure the "Type" line in the m36b.cfg file says "8" not "102". That's the most common reason for a ctd. To be safe, I've also only used the NYGM m36b and Hurricane files when using a cam ship in another install. Stiebler modded the NYGM cam ship Hurricane so it is different than the stock one. Make sure to add the m36b to your Englishnames.cfg file and make sure you've added the ship and plane to your rosters and the game sea and aircraft folders, though not doing this usually causes the game not to start vs a ctd. Last but not least, in NYGM the cam ship is added to convoys in the campaign.rnd file vs. letting the game pick it via a generic .rnd file. NYGM has it attached to 12 convoys, but of course one can have it in as many or few as wanted.

![]() I did all that, but others may benefit from it. Not sure what causes the issue. I looked at campaign files, ship and aircraft files. Triple checked types used, followed the instruction to the tee but can not get it work in WAC or GWX. I even went so far as to import the aircraft and ship files from NYGM to WAC and GWX. Same resulting CTD when loading. Needless to say, I gave up for the time being. Generally, I can get the most ticklish mod to work with some tinkering. Good hunting. FUBAR295

Easiest way is to just copy the entire cam ship info. block from NYGM's .rnd file, remembering to renumber it to match one's .rnd file rndgroup sequence. Just adding this for anyone else FUBAR; I'm sure you already knew this.

@FUBAR295 I've never had a problem with SHIII loading with the CAM mod enabled. It's the countless CTD whilst running the game that's frustrating, with the majority of those dealing with SimAct, or other .act functions. Well, and also taking 30 minutes to load. ![]() ![]() |

I'm running the CAM in WAC 5.0 with no problems. Well, with no CTD during loading, that is.
Maybe this will help; not sure. This is my current MOD installation: WarAceCampaign 5.0 WarAceCampaign 5.0 Patch_5.2 WAC5.01 Realistic Hull Damage WAC5.2 H.sie Supplement to V16B1 WAC5.0 H.sie Supplement to V16B1_Atlantic_Baltic_Campaign Stiebler4C_Addon_for_V16B1 MFM-Improved MFM v3.3 Silhouettes by Izgud ImprovedSmoke1_1 Auto Plot Kiel Canal WAC5 Das_Realistic_Food DD Visible Mines v1.0 DD_Debris_V1.2 hydrophone depth charge Realism_Renown Adjustment Scir_-Tikigod-_repeated_or Torpedo damage Final ver2.0 torpedo trail and wake fix Visible Flags_moderate Wooden_Lifeboats_Mod_1.1 U-Boat VIIB (Skin1 (U-47) Turm 1-2 Pseudodocking for WAC5.0 Terrain_Fix_by Anvar1061 The first thing I do is enable these: WarAceCampaign 5.0 WarAceCampaign 5.0 Patch_5.2 WAC5.01 Realistic Hull Damage WAC5.2 H.sie Supplement to V16B1 WAC5.0 H.sie Supplement to V16B1_Atlantic_Baltic_Campaign Once I've done that, I copy/paste and then edit the relevant CAM info into the Stiebler4C_Addon_for_V16B1 mod, following the instructions in Instructions_Stiebler4C_V16B1_Addon and Stiebler4C_patch_Docs. For instance, once the first five (5) mods are enabled, I go to (current game path)/data/Campaigns/Campaign and copy the Campaign_RND.mis and Campaign_SCR.mis from the game folder to the Stiebler4C_Addon_for_V16B1 mod, and then I follow the editing instructions given in Instructions_Stiebler4C_V16B1_Addon and Stiebler4C_patch_Docs. This assures that when I load that mod it has used the current game files as the basis for the CAM modifications. I do the same for every instance Stiebler describes in his instructions, as well as ticking the CAM-ship mod when running HsieOptionsSelector_V16B.exe. This has (so far) prevented any CTD during loading. Hope this helps! |
