Greetings THEBERBSTER and SteamSub!

What you guys are doing here is promoting the use of cracks! Both of your links point to cracks, only hidden under a changed name!

There has been a legal version around and I keep wondering why this is never mentioned instead of promoting the use of crack-archives: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=steam%20starfor...20%53%46%53%46

Hi Blackswan
There is nothing cracked in any of my tutorials SH3-4 or 5 that has been put there by me to my knowledge.
None of my thousands of posts contain anything deliberately hidden or promoting anything illegal.

I find your post and accustaion quite slanderous.

Peter

The Steam SH3 should already be at the correct version for you Blutenburg.

Not speaking to SteamSub's link here Blackswan (I'm not familiar with the Star Farce junk), but you have a signature that states "if my question has been answered before, i will be happy when you give me a link"... This is a similar situation. Look at the badges THEBERBSTER has been awarded here. Look at how long he has been a member here. Read the forum rules, and realize how your accusation sounds and looks... I do believe an apology is owed to Peter by you, immediately, if not sooner...

Ubi themselves gave the OK to pass around the HACKED Star Force files.
There is or was a post about that here at Subsim.

The files included in the links ARE those files. NOT the Non-Star Force files in newer versions which never HAD Star Force.

A quick look at file sizes will tell you that.

You Sir owe a BIG apology!

I'll rate that at 'Next time I want your opinion? I'll beat it out of you!'

ubisoft authorized the removal of "starforce" in 2009, the same Star-force.com has released a free removal tool,

http://www.star-force.com/support/drivers/

And as @Jeff Groves wrote Peter's files are "official" and absolutely legal

moreover the "Steam fix" option only changes the default "steam" path by moving SH3 out of the folder "program (x86) operation allowed now directly from Steam ---> settings..

Blackswan1940 I do not understand where it would be "crack "!!!!
Next time better think before you write rubbish

Default missing "whatever.dll" install aborted links origin clarified

Just to clarify the links I provided in my previous post are from THEBERBSTER's post page to include the mediafire link.

I examined the files and they contain copies of what the dialogue boxes are complaining about that is missing for their installs.

This may include install of the game itself or in my case install of a particular mod. Before replacing files:

1-INSURE main game is IN some other folder NOT "C:\Program Files" instead install in "C:\games"or some such

2 if spaces in pathname type errors occur, remove spaces between in pathnames replacing spaces with "_" . ie "C:\games\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter III" with "C:\games\Ubisoft\Silent_Hunter_III"

3 replace "files not found" type errors with like named file from the downloaded archive found in the links. I.e. if sh3.exe not found, backup, then overwrite that file with sh3.exe from the archive.
