Hi Dirk,
Only TWoS contains automatic Steam Conversion Tool which will make even the Steam version of the game easily modable. Otherwise, it' pretty complicated for non advanced users. You may wish however to wait until this evening because I'm preparing to upload a new version 2.2.9 which will require fresh campaign start.  Until then you can check my signature for more info...
