I downloaded direct x9c with the link you provided but when i try to install it it asks to designate a file path for it. Do you install it in the sh5 folder? or somewhere else?

Silent Hunter 5 folder.

Ok so I have that, in your screen. but my file path is:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\games\Silent Hunter 5

In that case, you don't have the same problem as the founder of this thread at all. It probably an installation problem...Also, you dont need to download DX manually since TWoS already contains required DX installation which of course won't ask you for the path (DX setups know how to find their "way").
