This is certainly a different socialisation.. Thomas the Tank is more or less unknwon in non-Uk Europe, and even if it were broadcasted here, it would have received a german dubbing, so his timbre and sound would not be recognized.
But for being one of the Beatles, and his music and films alone, this is well deserved  (If you have any regard for royal awards and titles they themselves invented  )
