Well deserved. In a field where so many 'stars' are lionized over their excesses and shenanigans, Ringo is someone more known for his skill, wit, and generosity. In the 1979 Beatles bio-pic, there is the following exchange between John Lennon and Beatle's manager Brian Epstein:

John, I want you to remember something. No single one of you is The Beatles. Each one of you is a part. Paul is the heart of the group, George is the soul, you're the mind.

John Lennon: And Ringo?

Brian Epstein: He's the flesh and blood.

If the one thing anyone is known for in their life is just being a good human being, it beats any other accolade...
