So I actually seem to have fixed my texture issue and with that also some random CTDs that occurred! A bit unclear what actually fixed the issue, but I read somewhere that if you dont run the game and play something like the tutorials for a bit, before applying mods, steam can try to verify files on first startup and overwrite some of your applied mod files.

The installation process
  1. Uninstalling SH4 and UBM from steam menu.
  2. Running CCleander, scanning and fixing registry
  3. Install SH4 vanilla
  4. NEW addition to process, run vanilla SH4 and play a bit of the sub tutorials
  5. Install UBM
  6. NEW addition to process, run SH4 UBM and play a bit of the sub tutorials, i launched the game twice in this step, one time first selecting SH4 vanilla in steam menu and then UBM. Both should start the same exe but just to be sure.
  7. NEW addition to process, install jsgme from a old SH5 backup that I had, v2.6.0.157
  8. NEW addition to process, install and run LAA on SH4.exe
  9. Install mods

Issues that still occur
1. No subs are visible in Museum, happens as soon as TMO 2.5 is applied. BUT no CTD
2. Menu ID missing error after OTC mod is applied and loading up tutorial or campaign at sea, I fixed this by replacing the menu_1024_768.ini manually with the last applied menu_1024_768.ini file from the OTC mod files.

I have not had the time to run the campaign more then getting out of PH and testing the different command stations but all seems to be well so far...

I didn't see anyone mention this, but has anyone tried installing the 4gb Patch?
I've done a fresh install in the past, enabled TMO2.5 (No RSRDC) along with bunch of other mods and had that white glitched interior look before crashing to desktop few seconds after the game had loaded. Then I remember I had forgotten to run 4gb patch and the game worked properly right after that. Can't remember if I got LAA running after CTD or if it had a helping hand.

I've found that running TMO/RSRDC running without the patch is pretty foolproof. You can run into trouble if you refit and extend your cruise too much. Of course the LAA patch fixes that.

Cobra himself first mentioned that he was already using LAA. Are you suggesting that he remove the patch and try that? I say it's worth a try but wouldn't expect anything, as LAA does not change the file contents at all, just the header. I haven't ever used LAA on Steam games.

I'm wasn't suggesting for LAA to be removed, I was saying I wasn't sure if had LAA on at the time when my game was crashing or if it has a helping hand along with the 4gb patch to stop the game crashing.

I'm merely suggesting he could try the 4gb patch to resolve the issue.

Okay, that sounds reasonable. Since logic isn't quite working here, I'd try it both ways to see if there is any change at all. I wouldn't expect any under normal circumstances.

Regarding LAA (found HERE).

There are two versions of the LAA app now.

One for a .netFramework v3.5 and lower......."laa_2_0_4.zip".

AND one for .netFramework v4.0 and higher......."laa_2_0_4_NetFramework_4_5.zip", (the latest .netFramework v4.6xxxx is used on the Windows10 latest build).

So the first obvious questions are........ which .netFramework version do you have, and which version of LAA are you using?

Another obvious question is (well actually there's more):
Is LAA confirmed doing its magic on your sh4.exe file?

To check this, use the "Advanced" option under the "Mode" menu heading. You should see this page pop up:

Two things you need to check here.
Is the "Path" (highlighted in blue) correct to find your "sh4.exe" file?
Is the "True" statement listed under the LAA column for your game?

My other obvious questions are, what's your computer specs?

3. 1.5_Optical Targeting Correction 031312 for RSRDCv502
3a 1.5_OTC_Realistic Scopes (or Aspect Ratio) RSRDCv502
3b 1.5_OTC_Tokko's Revenge for RSRDCv502 (better aircraft and improved AI)

I do not have these mods in my library.. But I have other versions and could not find any changes to the museum folder in these versions or the other mods in your list..
