Great board strategy game: ABALONE

Zombie Alaaaaarm!

It still is a great game that appeals to both aesthetics and intellect, all that with elegant, simple rules. This link here is the final of the 2015 world championship match. Even if you do not know the rules and have no idea what it is about, you may see that it simply looks elegant and pleasant to the eye.

And I just saw that a quite good Android version that I know since two years, meanwhile has made it to POC as well, on Steam. I do not know the PC version, but on Android 4.4.2 it runs smooth and stable for me.

Note that the crowd complains noisily about trading cards and achievements not working, but I do not care for such stuff, I stricly see this from a game-players POV. If the PC verison runs stable and is like the Android verison, then i recommend it, it's better than the commercial Abalone game there was several years before.

Personally, although I love the game, I suck at it. Play it too rarely, did not dove into it deep enough. But I realise the value there is, and that is what I appreciate. Big strategy with few, simple rules - that is what genius is about: to have something complex but let it appear as something simple, easy, and in this case also: elegant.

With 5 Euros on Steam, the risk is limited.
