Default INCREASED sinking times?

Is there a mod that INCREASES the sinking times of ships? The ships in this game sink way too fast sometimes, in mere seconds it seems, I get some ships can sink in mere minutes IRL, but in seconds that just takes me out of it.

So is there a mod for this out there?

EDIT: Yeah somebody pointed out to me that I had REDUCED sinking times instead of INCREASED

I know that there are adjustment to the sinking times in some of the super mods and it is something that is being worked on in the FOTRS Ultimate project. Exactly what specific mods address this issue I don't know.

Hi there!

Are you using SH4 v1.4 or v1.5 Uboat missions?
Are you using a specific mod or the stock game?

If you're using v1.4, try FOTRS v2.0. It has much better sinking times, also NSM v4.0 by Werner Sobe works fine on 1.4 stock. You'll be very surprised with this...

If you're using v1.5, try RFB v2.0. The best sinking mechanics made so far for SH1.5. If you're using v1.5 with TMO 2.5, try Bilge Rat's LST mod. Makes things much better.

I'm working on a mod now, but it's not near completion.

Hope this helped.

Billy.

Woops I did mean increase the sinking times xD.

As for the game:

I have SH-4 v1.5 (U-boat missions)

And for mods installed, the major ones are:

Game Fixes Only
Run Silent, Run Deep

I'm too much of a wuss for TMO.

I know not indeed what many thinks when about 250 - 300 kg of Torpex or explode under a ship?!?
Torpex is a certain proportion of aluminum, which is liquefied by the spark and then separately reacted with water, it makes the explosion nearly 5x as much ... just as an example, a USS Texas would be one (maybe two) Kiel shot been a German submarine probably sunk.

Only times to note - for the same reason both towers of the World Trade Center collapsed in 09/11 ... liquid aluminum and water.

Good info here!
However, it's not the torpedo damage that so many people are complaining.
It's the way ships sink.

For example, a Maya heavy cruiser, 15000 ton (full) displacement warship, with hundreds of watertight compartments, damage control parties and 1000 crew, sinks in less than a minute. I've seen battleships sink faster than this.
A well placed torpedo hit would indeed do grave damage to her, but she'll not go down under a minute no matter where it hit her.

And beside all this, you get the message "Ship destroyed", before your second torpedo launched 2 seconds later, explodes on her.

That's an immersion killer, if you ask me.

Oh ... then I have again misunderstood, my English is unfortunately very poor.

However, I have not a problem with the Sink Times because I play with SH4 TMO_RSRDC_OTC and my little ModSoup.
In said ModSoup among other ISP is included with the game-relevant files, which some but shifts the sinking behavior toward reality.

No problem with the language, Google is our friend, right?

Be well,
Billy.
