It's been a busy morning for Cletus, Meynard, Victoria and others of their furry band. Tiny noses and long whiskers twitching, they've scurried and sniffed their way across 8,300 square feet of fields to eliminate a scourge that has killed thousands of Cambodians: land mines. Meet the Hero Rats: intelligent, surprisingly adorable creatures with some of the most sensitive noses in the animal kingdom.

What a way to get your own scalytailed name on a plaque! Before going into the field, the recruits are tested: One missed mine, and they don't graduate to registered trademark HeroRATs. On weekends there's a special feast of apples, potatoes, watermelon and carrots...(for the survivors??) But what really drives their mine-sniffing are bananas and peanuts. I never knew these little guys even existed. That is interesting. Maybe I will get one for Eichhörnchen around the holidays this year. I Wonder if the hero rat will steal Eichhörnchen's cheese

I don't think Jim wants to be an officer in The Bilge any more than I do. I believe his point is that he could shut The Bilge down if it was to be deemed necessary.

Jimmy boy, around these parts is more like the Harbor Meister.
The Bilge is safely tucked into the Leeward side of the harbor at pier 666 with Wolferz keeping a watchful eye on his boat from his vantage point in the head is still very much in charge of this pool of muck. Anyone with a mucking difference of opinion on that point can just go fly a kite. Provided that you give the kite a long scaly tail for stability just so you don't land your kite in the bane of Charlie Brown (Monarch of the Forest) and exclaim....
