Not necessarily...Editor can be used without any problems If you show it the path to the files of interest in you main data folder (Menu.txt and TheDarkWraithUserOptions.py), like this...

The only difference is that you have to edit only one tab at the time and then save and close the editor...Then start it again and so on...
