FINALLY. After fiddling about, I realized I had to turn my wifi off. It just worked. Bada bang, bada boom. I am a happy camper.

The Wifi switch being the solution makes absolutely no sense at all. You sure your pc shouldn't still be in sickbay?

Either that's a pure coincidence or most likely a driver issue. If your wifi is built into your motherboard, be sure and update all drivers with the most recent directly from the manufacturer.
