Old Stuff Below, kept for archival value only.

I was thinking about doing a recorded playthrough, posted to youtube. Something in the vein of a lets play, but I'm going to assume that you're familiar with the basic game.

TMO, other mods maybe, full Switch diff, iron man style (dead is dead permanently), and just seeing how long I survive.

I'd be cutting the boring staring at the map parts and such, and only reloading the game after a quit/crash/major bug.

I could be wrong, but to the best of my knowledge this has never been done, at least not like this. Certainly not a common idea anyways, afiak.

ATM, I'm just gauging if there's any interest, so speak up if you think you'd watch. I'll also leave boat selection up to you guys, so I'd just take whatever's most voted for. Most def want it to be an asiatic fleet game from the start of the war though. Been a while since I played, but if it's still in there, it'll probably be a division 2 (special ops heavy) game. I'll probably start it next week if people are interested.

I'd watch, and I would vote for a Sargo class out of Cavite, Philippines.

Absolutely! I enjoy watching the "let's plays". It would be nice to see a new twist to the old game

Be fun, load up RSRD and get a S boat and I'll give you coords to several early large TF, try taking on the IJN fleet that heads out into the Indian Ocean with an S-boat....fun stuff.

This is just some target practice and experimentation with the technical aspect of this project.

So far, 2 votes for S-boats and one for a sargo.

Edit, combined links into a playlist for your convenience.

I say start with an S-boat at Cavite, and promote your way up...

I'll definitely watch (edited to add: no matter which boat you choose).

Great idea, I vote for the Sargo class. I usually start with it. I have not gotten up enough nerve to try the S Class
I think this is a great idea and looking forward to see how it comes out.

This was someone else doing something similar. Great commentary too!

A little more pre-career warmup.

I may do one passive sonar plot and blind shot before starting the career as well, then it's time to kick it off.

Just a small update here. I've been busy painting a relative's house (exterior on top of my regular job). The house should be done about the end of next week/early the week after. I will kick off patrol 1 shortly afterwards. Come to think of it, no promises, but I may actually do patrol 1 this weekend.

It will be an s-boat Philippines 1941 start. You guys are mean for wanting the sugar boat , but I've actually done it before so it's cool.

Fear not, the S boat shalnt let you down. That 4in deck gun can put down any unarmed merchant (though it may take some time :P) and it will save you many torpedos. Unlike that 3in that takes 100 shells to take down a sanpan

What a wonderful project, and I have already learned an easy way to calculate intercept angle Can't wait to try it out.

Are you going through the career with map contacts off? If so, I'd be happy to watch your convoy attacks, since they are my weak spot at 100% realism. Surely we can learn much from you, captain

Edit: I vote for sugar as well, but please upgrade when opportunity arises.
