But seriously, does anyone know how to make this mod work?

The only thing that still doesn't work is that I can't fire torpedos because when I press the buttons on the periscopes, nothing happens. I've tried replacing script files, editing scripts and I can't get the mod to work 100% despite my best efforts.

I found a thread somewhere where Darth Wraith posted a fix. It's a file that apparently goes in "data\scripts\menu\" but the download link doesn't work. So all I know is that it's possible to fix it by editing one or more of the script files in that folder but I haven't been able to pull it off. I also tried replacing "Page AttackPeriscope.py" from base game and overwriting the mod's script but that only adds the "target lock" capability.

Hey it finally works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the help!!

First, I followed all the instructions in your tutorial post #7. Then when my game started, it would just crash to the desktop.
So reinstalled and then followed those exact same instructions EXCEPT that I used 7zip instead of winRar and I didn't do the part about using the generic patcher.

You have StrategicMap installed before open horizons. Maybe that's your problem with the charts.

Finally got round to installing SH5 and only after finding the mod page on this site.
Im having an issue though, I cant seem to plot a course, When i got to the TAI options the option to do the click on boat to set a may point is disabled, which is fine as i prefer the SH3 method. When i click on the officer portrait the Set course and return to course icons are greyed out.

Can some one point me in the right direction (no pun intended)
The mods im running are as follows
TDW generic mod patcher.
TDW TDC
TDW multiple UI and dials etc
Open Horizons
MightyFineCrew
Reworked Morale and abilities

Loving the manual TDC now still not sunk the liberty cargo in the historical mission menu. Actually hit it it now though, first time impact fuse torp bounced off, second magnetic one went of premature.

If any one can help it would be great.

OR
b. Backup all those 50 dds image files into a zip file somewhere on your computer AND THEN delete all of them.

This fixes the problem where there's a black 800x600 box in the top-left corner of the screen taking up a whole bunch of space.

Step 3. Now you need to get rid of the annoying UN-closable "User Charts" window.
To do this, navigate to

"mods\NewUIs_TDC_7_5_0_ByTheDarkWraith\data\Menu\Pages\Page Default Hud.ini"

Step 4. Find where it says:

Type=1026;Menu group

Step 5.
NOTE: VERY IMPORTANT!! Don't just backspace that whole entire thing. This will make everything not work.

On the line where it says "Zone= 354 445 315 122 0 1 0xA000000 0.5 -0.5 0xA4D0000 -0.5 0.5 0 0", just backspace THE WHOLE LINE. What you should have now is:

Name=UserCharts
Type=1026;Menu group
ItemID=0xA4D0000
ParentID=0xA000000
Pos=354,-323,315,122

Now there is no annoying window in the way and you can play the game normally.

The cause of the problem is that the download links seem to contain corrupted versions of what was supposed to be contained in those 50 dds files. Either that or Winzip (which is what I used) doesn't like unzipping dds files from .7z archives.

I have no idea how to fix the user chart window and make it work normally instead of just deleting it. Everything seems to be coded in python which I'm not familiar with.

EDIT: AAAAAAUUUGGHHH DAMMIT!!!! There's still a problem where you can't select torpedos or fire them. All that work for nothing!

Anyone know how to fix that? It's beyond what I'm capable of fixing.

try to delete all **********_Draggables.TDW files from your main SH5 folder the game will remake them .... and tbh i really don't understand what problem u have with the charts ... the chrats works and tdw ui's work very well
