Good day everyone,
Firstly I start with an apology as not all the pictures are here I have only given you a taste, the reason is because there are around 160+ photos some of which are very heavy on MB and I don't think onkel neal would appreciate it if I took up the entire space, so I have uploaded them to flikr for you guys to have a look, comment, criticise etc. so I hope you enjoy! ![]() Me inside the torpedo tube of B821 Foxtrot class submarine at this point I could have easily gone to sleep in there! Well recently myself and my friend made a trip through Europe which included Belgium Luxembourg and France, this was a marathon in which we had to cover just under 900 miles in one day, plus a museum trip in the middle. Needless to say it was incredible tiring but well worth it ! Our trip focused initially on a French submarine that was in Cherbourg however I did have an errand to run in Luxembourg (yes I know wrong direction). The trip took us into Luxembourg nice country rather small and didn't stay long as it wasn't our destination, but we had a thought as we were not far from the port of Zeebrugge why don't we also include in this trip the Russian Foxtrot class submarine B821 which is located near the ferry terminals in Belgium, so we did just that. I must say the B821 has seen better days the submarine was launched in 1960 and has been out of commission since 1995 ![]() Doesn't she look cute in the winters sunlight ![]() Looking at her starboard side of her sail a little rough maybe ![]() A view through the periscope this was the best shot I could take after spending 25 min's trying to get it right. After touring the submarine and also the light ship west hinder we made haste for Cherbourg. We arrived in Cherbourg at 2130 after being on the go for 22 hours needless to say we just ate then crashed into bed both of us were out as if we had just been depth charged to oblivion. The next morning we arose from our pit's and went to cite de la mer to visit the main attraction the nuclear ballistic missile submarine Le Redoubtable the largest submarine on display in the world and also the only SSBN (SNLE) to ever be turned into a museum. ![]() The forward end of her showing the bow and sail ![]() Looking up at her starboard side to show her name and sail We had a darn great time so il let the pictures tell you the rest Enjoy!! https://www.flickr.com/photos/131313936@N03/

Nice pics there Kap, I wondered where you'd gotten to. Didn't know that an SSBN had been made into a museum, good on the French to do that, could do with something like that in the UK but instead they get cut up.
![]() The Foxtrot in Zeebrugge is in much better condition than the one...sinking...in the Medway. ![]() |

well this is the plan of action for the next trip which is much longer and will include 6/7 submarines
Leaving the UK on the Harwich to hook ferry, arriving in Amsterdam the same day where we will take pictures of the Zulu class submarine if its still there (cant go onboard and its been stripped out) we then travel upto Den Halder for the maritime museum which includes tonjin and several other vessels We leave for Wilhelmshaven and to view U10 a 1960's type 206 submarine Then to Bremerhaven for the type XXI U2540 Off to hamburg for the tango class submarine Then moving along to U995 at laboe and our final stop is Peenemunde when a julliette class is resident. That's the plan and we have 6 days to do it in
