No, it is a new independent game, though copying the general design of the Euro title.

There are mods for US trucks in the Euro truck game, however.

I learned so far that parking a trailer in a tight slot and in reverse is a.) counter-intuitive, and b.) difficult because of a.). Took me some time to understand what was going on why.

Know that feeling well.

"Right, so I turn right and the trailer should....God dammit!!"

Its a funny feeling, to now virtually drive in so many places that in the years before I virtually flew over so many times, and landed at and took off from so often.

I am currently addicted to world exploration in this game, it has so many different details to offer, and so many sweet little surprises. Why has nobody told me before? I take that personal! What they told me is "Uh, no hardcore simulation physics, so not for you, Sky." On the other hand I missed two years of bug squashing, 16 patches, and many minor niggles between them, it seems. I have not had a single problem with this game far! None.

A very good miniature railroad world. The buying of Scandinavia DLC is a decided thing, and the American truck title I will also get. But the latter maybe again a bit later.

I find the maps to be very generic. Sure there is the little gem here and there (air lift museum near Frankfurt for example) but all in all it's very generic especially the cities.

I agree, the cities are quite generic and they are also a bit... small it seems for something that's supposed to be a city. Although I guess that the city size is to scale considering the map size (maybe). Also the weather patterns get somewhat boring too, it's either clear, cloudy, foggy or raining and sometimes fog and rain at the same time. If they don't add snow and ice for the upcoming Scandinavia dlc I'll be a little disappointed.

Compared to something like OMSI, ETS is rather vague in its geography, but what it does weave together is very pretty.

Of course it is - what did you expect? It is Europe in shrunk-size format. Still, basic geographic features and landscapes get reflected by the style of the virtual copy. I think they did a very good job on this. And the tours are long. Really long.

Honestly I somehow didn't think you'd be into it

I agree though - it's just a great little exploration game that doesn't feel like work. Not a study sim by any stretch of the imagination, but very enjoyable.

Now, they just need a Mad Max mod to simulate a global meltdown and coming apocalypse and that game would be awesome

Now do it with doubles! If there's a descent/ascent scenario of the Donner Pass, I can relive my childhood!
