Look on the bright side Steed, you can still cheer for your mongrel colonial cousins, who have no interest in football whatsoever, who are still in play.

Say it Steed! U.S.A! U.S.A! U.S.A!
A wee bit louder Steed, I can't hear you.

oh, you can take the Indian cricket jersey off.

For years the England fans have wanted their team to play more like Spain... now they have finally achieved it!

Ok I watched England and Uruguay....

WT.. errr HECK England?

South American homefield advantage?

Also something kinda touching I saw...

First of all that Colombia vs Ivory coast game was awesome. 3 Goals in 9 minutes, Ivory coast with major pressure at the end, made a great show against a clearly better team.

Anyone notice how loud the Colombian anthem was, and how the player sung it with so much "gusto"? (mind you, alot of yellow jerseys in the crowd, but the players all sung hard, hands over their heart)

Then Ivory coast team, was mumbling the words, some not singing at all, except one guy, the dude with the blonde mohawk, who was in tears, the guy next to him was comforting him the whole time.

How many billions are watching this.

The World Cup is really popular in America this year too, bringing the sport here does not mesh well though, as it is hard to show commercials every 10-15 minutes in soccer/football.

MLS is a good step, but we cannot attract world class players, the money and prestige is so much better in Europe for them.

I would like to see America take more interest, it really is awesome once you know what you are seeing, and understand the tactics.

For most sadly.

I enjoyed alot of the games so far.

I am an oddball though, they broadcast EPL over here and I always check it out, hence my disappointment in England, dying like dogs....Yechhhh.

Not disagreeing, just saying I am hanging in there! Will Spain win again? Nope, Will America?

Maybe.

Generally the case with most countries, even those in Europe.

I see no problem in anyone doing that. Rooting for the USA is like having sex with a 400 pounder (I'll leave that to you to convert to kilos, but it is really freaking fat), it's fun as long as your friends don't see you doing it.

Americans are harsh, but we are an ok sort. Nothing personal, just being buttholes is kinda ingrained in us, kinda like English Chivalry, but the opposite.

England is out, and the Italians were lucky, all they need now is a draw against Uruguay, although I haven't seen the second scene in a replay when a Costa Rican fell in the penalty box, they were denied at least one penalty in the first half shortly before the goal.

Had the Costa Ricans scored a second goal they would've needed to win in their last game

After what I seen the macaronis do, Uruguay will kill them

South America has that jambo voodoo this year. They got home crowd advantage.

My colonial fathers died on arrival, my distant ancestors died to some crap Island country with awesome beaches (Costa Rica, vacation there, do it!)
Won't stop my chant!

USA-USA-USA~

Portugual is gonna kill us....

Pure speculation

If Uruguay play as they did yesterday against England and If Italy play as they did today against Costa Rika

..then it's arrivederci Italy
