Nah it is all Hollywood.Still though if you are going fast enough and wrap yourself around a solid object in any part of the world in real life the vehicle has a chance catch fire but not explode.The reason the car looks like it blew up is because in the time it took a first responder to get there the car had already been consumed by the flames.Who knows how long after the accident a call was put in the car my have already been on fire.It would not take long to engulf a car that size.
