I think you nailed it. Looks like a UBIII more than anything else printed in Rossler's book.

Just checked my copy.

I think it is a UBIII class. @ sets of floats on the cables, The deck railing kinda matches, and the bow looks kinda short compared to a WW2 VIIA.

Believe it is the SM (Seiner Majestät) UB 148 built by AG Weser of Bremen and commissioned in 1918 and sunk after the German Armistice of 1918 by USS Sicard as a target.
