I never did either until half my crew was injured. In order to keep the sub running I had to find working men for all shifts. This meant moving some around. I don't regret the air attack. Its taught me about whos who on my crew and made me a better captain. I am confident now of getting the best performance from my boat and crew.

I normally do not investigate the numbers issue to much. I find it easier to simply watch the meter(green) on the compartment as well as the duty section and make corrections that way. I am always adjusting them and it is much easier to use the visual aid to add healthier or skilled members to a section or compartment, especially if damaged, and remove wounded or less skilled members when that compartment needs better hands.
When your being depth charged and are already damaged checking a numbers sheet takes to long for me. |
