In some ways yes. SH5 has been described as less of a sub sim and more of a captain sim. Many of the problems have been fixed by mods, but while it looks a lot better it still doesn't have the breadth and depth of SH3, and nothing has been done to change that in the last three years.

YES! Just don't install it in the default folder, which is c:/Program_Files_(x86)/Ubisoft/Silent_Hunter_III. You can run afoul of the User Access Control in Win7 when you try to add mods. Install to a folder in the root directory, like c:/SH3, and you will have no trouble at all.

![]() SH3 has fully programmable FATs. SH3 is as much fun as original SH, with way more capability. Try it with GWX. And I like NYGM for a real "how it was" feel. Pick it up from Amazon for ten bucks, and SubSim gets a kickback. Can't lose. |
