I have one current Steam game, the (relatively) new Xcom. I also have the original and TFTD. Anyway, Steam verifies my installation almost daily...as if I'm some pirate selling images of the game or something.
When I just want to jump on and check/reply to e-mail quickly with a real keyboard, that insidious "verifying installation" screen can be a real drag... I'm close to deep-sixing the whole mess.
