No paradox and no irony. If I spend fifty bucks for a game I expect to open the box, put in the disk and play it, not jump through hoops and be told I can't play the game I paid for because I don't have the proper connection.
With a game such as Rise Of Flight I'll pay to play online because I'm playing in a competitive mode with other players, and that's part of the experience. SHO is an online only game. I'm not being asked to pay for it, and I know what I'm getting, so there's no problem if I try it and don't like it. No one is complaining about SHO because no one was asked to pay for a boxed game they could only play with the seller's permission. If you see a paradox, the faulty thinking is on your end.
