Well since it is labour laws then that would be the National Labor Relation Act.
Since its a hearing for constructive dismissal which you Americans call constructive discharge in law it would be the section of labour law which deals with that.

National Labor Relations Act? Dismissal of who? Deen. What is on trial here is the use of a word. The dismissal of Deen is the aftermath. This is about money. If it was truly about correcting a wrong why is 2 million being sought? If this was someone living check to check it would not make the news. The human psyche love to see those at the top come tumbling down. You are mixing 2 issues.
Two very simple issues.
1. constructive dismissal. Seems clear cut, employees shouldn't have to put up with dumb rednecks, being a employer who is a dumb redneck strongly suggests that the bigotry will lead to illegal discrimination against your employees
2. getting dismissed for being a dumb redneck. Engaging in conduct that is detrimental to the interests of your employer

This is about money.

Employment usually is.
Business usually is.
Since this is about employment and business then of course it is about money.

Yeah, ain't that the truth. This whole situation is blown out of proportion, and is a sad commentary on the mentality of the general population. Say N***** and the world will demand you lose your vocation and any other benefits of life. I do not approve of derogatory language, but isn't it funny how freely people throw out the F-word, without regard to other people? I find the F-Word easily as offensive as the N word, but no one thinks twice about offending me (and others with a modicum of class).

If you grew up in the South, especially in the time frame that Mrs. Deen did, and you have never used that word then something is seriously wrong. This whole situation is absolutely ridiculous. It's not like she called someone "n----r" on TV or something. It's all about something that happened years and years ago.
