you have not correctly set the CO2 to be used in the options
you are getting radio messages through your radio wire
you can select one item to be fixed at a time
possitions on land in an option that you can change the error factor
it will only mark obective as done if they are - perhaps you are getting objectives and missions mixed up

you gotta admit though, its annoying when you want sooo much for it to work and it don't!

its why I cant go near it yet. it truly is a labour of love. I just want to be able to load up and sail out. I just cant have it crashing on me. SH3 is old, but its smooth and I rarely if EVER have problems with it.

PS. love the helpful link by the way

Good Morning or Afternoon All,
I only got SH 5 a couple of days ago and am already trying to mod it. I am currently downloading Sober's mod and will install. I have a gamer's gate version. That is downloaded from them. Anyone know of any problems with that version? Have not been doing the SH series for quite awhile, but came back when offered SH 5 for $3.00. Hopefully the mods will make it better. Want to install the SH3 gages but for some reason it didn't work. Anyone know how to make them appear. Have started a new campaign but to no avail so far.
Thanks for any help.

you may have issues with mods and the 'Generic Patcher' which seems to be an absolute necessity, if you use downloaded version. may be best to use the disk version.
others will clarify....

I play 100% realism and CO2 option marked. Possition on land when you are next to a light house? No. And the mission objectives was reported complete and I wasn´t even near the objective. And the repair is automatic, one thing per sector and N% was just frozen. And the only thing I got mixed up is your pride for vanity. SH5 is a broken piece of ****.

If you don't even want to find out how it works.. and you can only complain about how everything is broken and ***.. then yes, sim games are not for you..

enjoy your bathtub, as Trevally mentioned..

It looks like it's time to remind everyone once more about Subsim's rules on decorum and language.

I think this amplifies how frustrating SH5 can be. it seems to work well for some and yet for others like zoegas and myself it can be intensely frustrating.
I don't condone the implied bad language - but I can empathise with the sentiment!

its heart breaking to spend hours and hours setting it all up 'correctly' according to the readme's and all other instructions only to have it crash - freeze - whatever. its not the fault of the modders however that remains with you-know-who-be-soft!

its for this reason that I will not experiment again for a long time - I just don't have the time.
though im sure one day all will be well with SH5

don't give up zoegas, just quietly put it down for a while and try something else that works...a little more simply.

It does frustrate me when I see people posting about wanting an "all in one" mod that works with any problems at all, but that's just what I see when I spot "Should I bother"

I get a strange, unpleasant feeling when people demand everything to be perfect, but we are all like that at times.

It also annoys me when people with more than twice the amount of downloads than the amount of posts they have demanding something to be perfect, but perfect comes at price, if it's even possible.

But this is all my opinion.

stock shIII i played an awful lot, same with shIV i've modded them to improve and i really enjoy both games.
5 i'm just trying to get to grips with but its bloody clunky. the controls seem counter intuitive.
also, how the hell do you control torpedo spread and open the damn tubes?

i tried the tutorial then a single mission.
that was my time lol not sure on a stopwatch but i'll give it a go hah.
tbf visually it looks very nice inside the sub, albeit a bit empty and outside looks wonderful. the hits on ships look really great, but its like trying to wrestle a bear rather than captain a boat.
