Default Wuh?

Trevally must have been in a mood.

I'd say "Yes", go for it. There are some excellent mods available, as usual. Nothing like Grey Wolves, but still well done. Some excellent work by Trevally as well.

At the low price you can now get the game, why not?

Don't get the Steam version if you can find a boxed CD version.

Yes, there is reason.. you can't use awesome TDW's Generic Patcher with the steam version.. any other downloadable version is OK.. boxed version is not required..

Vanilla is unplayable, period. On the other hand there are mods that make SH5 truly outstanding. Despite my minor criticizms I fully support SH5 and everything that's been done for it so far. Considering the price you can easily afford to find out for yourself whether it's what you want.

Ordered from amazonia, for £3.85 i can't complain can i?
i'll test vanilla then if needs be mod it to the back teeth and see how she plays.
i've been watching a few lets plays and the interface doesn't look too bad. similar to shIII in some ways.

TheDarkWraith's New UIs mod lets you choose between a variety of interfaces, including one that replicates SH3.

Get a stopwatch out and start it as soon as you start playing the vanilla version of SH5. Post your stop time when you finally had enough of it and decided to mod it

I played through the entire stock SH5 story and I encountered no problems at all.

I even enjoyed the stock version.

...give it a go, ive tried several times and I love the graphics - its the way forward. but it requires a lot of patience. its not SH3+GWX.
But I will not be getting rid of my SH5 disc. I want it to work, so maybe again in another twelve months or so...
...go ahead fire it up - leave your experiences here - it all adds to it in the end. the modders are doing great work and I hope they continue.
they are saving the game from the bin. KUDOS to them for that

I was hoping Sobers mega mod would make it better, but no. My current patrol I got hit by a taskforce, I could not see it. Not on the horizon and not with the hydrophone. But they saw me and shelled me down to 27 metres. There I am stuck. Repair team does nothing. If I order them to repair something, they ignore my order and "repair" something else instead. But that is an overstatement. Subsystem screen only shows that they are repairing, but they are not. The boat is listing so I cannot walk to other compartments. CO2 levels and air levels stay the same. And I keep getting radiomessages even tho im submerged. And sometimes i get possitions on land. It also says that I have completed my objectives, but i have not. Nice graphics tho. All in all, this game is so broken, that it is not worth a cent. A toy in the bathtub is more fun than this.
