Default Americian's Creed 95 years old

Did you know that we had an American's Creed?

Yes we do

Quote:
I believe in the United States of America as a government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed, a democracy in a republic, a sovereign Nation of many sovereign States; a perfect union, one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice, and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.
I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it, to support its Constitution, to obey its laws, to respect its flag, and to defend it against all enemies.

Written by William Tyler Page in 1917. He was the Clerk of the House of Representatives. He started out as a House page in 1881.

Accepted by the United States House of Representatives on April 3, 1918.

That Creed was ignored long ago judgeing by those in Office now and in the past.

The new Creed seems to be 'What's best for me'.

It does not say for whom nor does it say freedom, equality, justice for everyone. Pretty sneaky actually.

In Denmark and Sweden we don't have such a thing like your Creed or Faith

However some years ago a danish politician came up with a proposal that every foreigners that want to be a citizens in Denmark should give or say a creed.

The response on that??

They called him a racist

There's been speculation on the internet forever now about a "Second American Civil war". More conspiracy and anti-government stuff from the fringe really. However, as time goes by I have found myself from outright dismissing that talk to wondering if it could actually happen. Only, maybe not so much as a second civil war, but a "Second American Revolutionary war.

Especially when we have Congressman like Jerrold Nadler who has said that the "state ought to have a monopoly on legitimate violence.” What's iinsane is he thinks that a.) we have machine guns, and b.) that he thinks the whole all volunteer military will be on his side against the people.

In any event, the words, "state ought to have a monopoly on legitimate violence", that is a seed of tyranny no matter how you slice it.

I'm sure it would make some people happy...mostly those in Beijing, Moscow, Tehran, Islamabad and Pyongyang.

Like many here, I also served my country.
As much as it saddens me to say?
I no longer believe in those elected and in Power today.
Belief is a powerful thing. Once you shatter that, you can not fix it easily.

I use to look at those Nut Job sights and laugh.
Then I found maybe they ain't so Nuts but just viewing things wrong.

So I did a test.

I drove over the speed limit to get pulled over.
When the LEO ask to look in my truck I said produce a warrant and then we're cool.
My truck was impounded, towed, and locked away!
I had to pay all the fees to get it back even though there was NOTHING illegal in it!

The rulings on Probable Cause are worthless unless you have about a million bucks.

Are you sure there is not more to the story you are not sharing? I looked up the Ohio statutes (http://www.leg.state.or.us/ors/809.html)

Section 809.720 covers the police impounding cars at traffic stops. There are four instances where the police can impound your car at a traffic stop.

(a) Driving while suspended or revoked in violation of ORS 811.175 or 811.182.
(b) Driving while under the influence of intoxicants in violation of ORS 813.010.
(c) Operating without driving privileges or in violation of license restrictions in violation of ORS 807.010.
(d) Driving uninsured in violation of ORS 806.010.

I have my doubts that the police can impound your car simply because you refused a warrantless search. You sure this is the entire story?

On the paperwork for the impound order, what was the statute cited?

You might want to check your city/county statutes as section 809.720 (7) allows Ohio city/county to have their own impound regulations.

If it turns out that the police inappropriately impounded your car, you might be able to get the money back... but you have to be sure it truly was inappropriately impounded.

What the Law says and what the Law does in Ohio is 2 different things.
I could fight it and win. But I don't have the cash.

Probable Cause in Ohio does not include refuseing a voluntary search.
That's been Case proven.

The tactic is STILL in place however.
I can only say I'm very Happy with the Sheriff and Deputies of Wyandot County, Ohio.
Those Guys Rock!

I would suggest not giving the Ohio police reason to pull you over.
