If your using SH3 Commander you can set wave heights to x2 or seasonal.

I was thinking something more along the lines of your boat taking damage and things like that. Maybe even crewman getting hurt and soforth. From getting banged around inside the hull and topside. Plus equipment damage.

Wouldn't happen in reality, as the captain would normaly take the boat down to a depth that gave more comfort to the crew.
A worn out & battered crew would not give their best, so the cap't would try to keep his crew fit for when action needed every ounce of energy they had.

Well I guess that's what he wants: To be able to take that decision himself and risk or not causing damage to boat & crew ...

But in response to the OP, yes it can be done as Jim said, and there are actually some ships in the game that take damage in heavy weather or even sink. So it can be done.

As Jim suggested, start by using SH3 commander to increase wave size ... see if that causes damage to your boat already.

I think your all on to something here. Damaged caused by waves.

What exact units sink with high waves alone?
