With a couple exceptions for high dollar nursing homes, and the VA nursing home in Lexington, I have said, and will repeat that The Federal Medical Center is the best nursing home in Lexington. Most nursing homes are awful. I shudder the idea that a family member may some day have to go to one.

I inspected and maintained fire alarm systems in the Lexington area nursing homes back in the late 90's. Most were decent. Some outright deplorable. I shudder at the idea of putting a family member in one too. Thank the maker that my father and mother passed before that became needed.
