Having people off the roads does make a tremendous difference. That being said, it is pretty hard to sensationalize 3 feet of snow.
The storm was tough on the Jersey shore due to the wind and surf. Sandy's effects will be felt all winter. |

Yup, we got about a foot up here. By now most of everything has been cleaned up. Not a snowpocalypse or anything, but certainly more than a light dusting!
I too love snow. Especially now that I am no longer responsible for shoveling the stuff ![]() |

We got nuthin here in northern Delaware.
![]() I remember the blizzard of 77-78 and it was no fun at all. Sucks when you have no power or heat, and no generators like we do today. Was no fun being snowed in and stranded for several days either..... unless you have a snowmoble. ![]()

Snow is a four letter word that results in a mouth washed out with soap.

Yea, this is starting to.... I think it's worse than yesterday. The wind is just howling and still snowing. Haven't been out in 24 hours. See the odd 4x4 driving by. Visibility is bad.

On the contrary, I'll be willing to bet that a lot of New Englanders spent this weekend watching lots of news. I know that I do when I there is a big storm bearing down on me.

Let it snow. Let it snow. Let it snow.

We saw maybe six inches here in the western reaches of the Poconos.

I went out around 6pm and removed the first 3 inches of heavy wet snow since it started getting light and fluffy. By the time I finished (about an hour) there was already another 3 inches on the parts I had cleared first. I went out again around 10pm and removed another foot. That was the real fun one. Then the next afternoon as it was stopping I went back out and took another foot and a half as well as clear the mail box approach. But we had to do the front and back decks by hand as well as dig a path out to the wood shed which I just finished today. Just in time for rain and 45 degree weather on Wednesday... ![]()
