Next days past without major events. We spent our days submerged even though Allied Air activity was almost zero. Our soundman picked up a merchant closing. I position the boat for the attack. Weather is brilliant, skies are clear. I decide to use our 88mm cannon as its a lonely tramp steamer. 1 Across the bow but she wont stop. So my gunners took her out

More gun practice for my boys. Those stubborn Tommies tried to evade but realised the futility and abandoned ship after the 4th round. ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us After 4 days, the weather turns for the worst as we now patrol the low AM grids. Visibility is very low so we spend most of our time below, listening for the sounds of screws. And after 6 days , a contact!! Taking meticulous note of the course and positioning some 400m from where merchant is supposed to pass. There she is. Calculations are basic as distance is close and she will pass fast. One eel leaving Tube 1 ![]() And a hit!!! ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us 18,000 tons so far and we are still mid patrol. Happy Days. For how long will they last ? --- to b continued---
