Nice car! Muscle cars were not my thing but if I had a choice it would be a 70-71 Torino. I like the body style. Cars from the 50's always captured my attention. I own a 54 Buick Special.

Very nice. I've always been a van guy myself. On the other hand I haven't owned a car in going on eight years.

Nice thread, GT.
![]() A friend of mine had a 73 Mach I Mustang and another buddy had a '69 Chevelle, same color as the one in John's post.

Here is a great conversion.
![]() This is one I saw in a magazine back in '71 or so, and always wanted a picture of. The guy removed the back section from an early '60s Ford van, and welded another front in its place. I loved it because I had one of those, the first 'car' I ever owned. ![]() This guy took the idea a step further. ![]() And somebody else did the same with the 'pickup' variant Ford made for a couple of years. ![]()

Those older vans from the 60's and early 70's are getting very rare nowadays even in more original form.
I know guy that owns a 63 Convair truck it looks pretty cool a bit like like this one. It has some small block(not sure what size off the top of my head) it is as well not a stock engine: ![]() Here is a sweet conversion van check out the interior. http://hooniverse.com/2011/04/10/hoo...stom-maxi-van/ Last edited by Stealhead; 01-16-13 at 10:52 PM. |

Thanks, now let's see the 54 Buick Special. They were a pretty darned nice car back then.
Steve, vans were cool too. I had an 85 GMC 30 series I put a custom interior in. Had lotsa fun in it too. It even carried my custom 76 Super Glide around. ![]()

![]() My brother just picked this one up. 1960 Chrylser Imperial Southhampton. I guess the precursor to muscle. She has the 430 wedge motor. 325 horses. Bullet proof like the hemi but the hemi can be massaged much more producing gobs of horse power. ![]()

I bet yer kicking yourself for getting rid of them Neal. Especially the 429 Torino. It's worth some bucks these days. And a rare car to see too.
Nice looking Buick Warhawk. Years ago my grandfather had a 53 Roadmaster back in the early 60s with the visor over the windshield. I always wanted that car when he was done with it. Beautiful car but sadly it caught fire and burnt up. He was sick over that loss. GR, those two are nice. No matter what hang on to them. I've seen too many guys get tire of what they have, sell what they have off, only to kick themselves for years after. And I'm one of them. ![]() THis was a 66 Tempest Custom I had back in 72. Photo is damaged not the car. No rust on it anywhere. I did put the GTO hood and grills in it back then. Sold it because the 2 speed tranny was crapping out. Dumbest move I've ever made. ![]() And this was the only new car I ever bought. Someone stole the complete interior out of it when I had it in storage back in 94. The only 2 things left in it was the steering column and shifter for the transmission. I did get the 15x8 Snowflakes and the tail lights off it and walked away from it. WS6 79 Formula FB with a set of Recaro bucket seats in it, and the aluminum rear window louvers. After all these years I'm still PO on losing this car. ![]()

![]() Thinking about it, there are some old Mopars from the Muscle car era I would love to have. Not the super birds but the more obscure Mopars. Like a 69 GTX. ![]()
