well it wouldnt be unrealistic to see a native canoe around some islands but no one got into adding such small elements as of yet.

i suppose it could be modded from a reskin of a lifeboat where you already have some animated characters with paddles and randomely add them to islands like the way harbor traffic is randomely added to harbors so im sure it could be done if you could find someone willing to commit the time to do the mod

I'm having a hard time understanding why you would want such a mod...

I think he's pulling our leg?

Not exactly war canoes, but I had an idea where there could be fishing boats (or any small commercial craft) ,that would look almost identical to the ordinary ones, except these would be enemy craft with radios and perhaps one or two machine guns or such. The idea being that it would be very difficult to know which was which until you were very close. The bad ones could report your position like any enemy ship and would have a sting if you got too close.

Just think of it as doing our part to prevent the Mayan New Year end of the world. Time's running out, gents. Then again, Mayan New Year war canoes were known to do eighty knots, submerge to a thousand feet and completely carve up sperm whales in a matter of seconds. Perhaps it's best I encourage modders to avoid them at all costs.

^^^^^^^^

We need them NOW.
And I thought something was amiss, seeing as the Mayans were wiped out by the Aztecs hundreds of years before WWII.

Conversely, there are Mayans in Age of Empires II but no submarines

well joke / silly request or not, there were natives around most of the islands that traveled in canoes as basic transportation between islands as well as for fishing and collecting supplies and for this reason they were used to sneak in spies and coast watchers to report enemy activities since if spotted they were seen as regular normal non military traffic and mostly ignored and for realism sake it would be nice to see at least this small form of some life represented around the islands as you would normally see.
