Did you try to load OM 705 on top of FOTRS? That may have broken it right there. They are two different supermods, and use many of the same files.

You need to do separate intsalls of the game to run different supermods. The best way to control these is MultiSH4:

OM 705 should work just fine on its own. Everything that comes after just makes it better. Lurker made his patches pretty easy to understand. The first would be OM 705_to_720.

After that comes OMEGU 300, which is mostly an environment upgrade.
