happened. The loud-mouths want more proof, give it to them and they make up
more allegations and ask for more proof. So, what's the point for "feeding the trolls".

Well in this case it would be the troll who was doing the feeding, to the tune of 5 million bucks.

Yes it is a stunt, but Trump is betting that he won't have to pay up because Obama won't take the deal. However it's going to become public knowledge some day anyways even if just in history books so I fail to see the harm in Obama calling his bluff.

I don't let spoiled brats dictate what I do and ignoring them is the last thing they want. If Trump's offer is taken up, the brat wins by getting attention he doesn't rate. If ignored Obama maintains the high ground.

5 million is a really small tip in the world of people like Trump. He's a bloody billionaire, after all. Why doesn't he show real committment to his belief he is right and put up, say, 50 million? That's only 5% of a billion; a small price to pay if you really believe you're right. Trump should crawl back under the rock he and his "hair creature" share and leave the rest of the world in peace. I may even be forced to arrange to have Rosie dropped on him from a great height...

High ground in this case means 5 million dollars less for some deserving charity bottom line.

Win or loose next month Obamas life will be studied in excruciating detail for decades even centuries to come. All Presidents lives are, and him being the first person of color to hold the office even more so i'd bet. The information will eventually come out anyways. So unless there is something that would hurt Obama in the upcoming election I say he should really seize the high ground and put charity before self.

Yes, it will be public knowledge at some point.

It's really hard to put it to words what I mean, I couldnt even put it out in Finnish.
But... should the POTUS, the "most powerful person in the world",
just give in and prove that he is what most think he is?

As I see it, it's pride+honor+trust, what Obama is doing. As I said earlier,
the ones against Obama will think of something else to attack him with,
no matter what he (Obama) says. I dont see why he should keep playing that game.

He is the POTUS by vote, suck it. (Democracy and all that

Basically, what Trump and his far right fellow travellers are engaging in is an old (and bad) debater's trick. When you are unable to win an argument on the basis of facts that you can provide yourself or you can substatiate yourself, you cast a broad, vague net to "fish" for something, anything you can hang your argument on and hopefully distract from your lack of any cogent logic. The far right have really run out of any substantiative arguments able to result in a "body blow" to Obama, so they are just demanding more and more senseless "information" in the hope they may accidentally stumble on some way of winning an argument they have already lost long ago. I have even seen this tactic used in some of the threads and topics in these forums. It can be amusing to watch the drowning flail as they manage to swim farther and farther from solid ground...
