now my first mission during war time is finished, 23 sept-28 oct 1939, it was a so good feeling to enter in a friend sea heading Wilhelmshaven, listening to german sound files and watching from the deck german coast. "Ahead full" for to reach home as soon as possible, there was also the fanfare waiting for me.

No, it's not a problem for me if I can't act all the time, ok I keep GWX setup.

12 medals and 1 cross to give randomly to my crew.

I bought this game 2 years ago in bundle with a magazine, never played seriously until these days, it is a very good game.
now some rest and then ready for next mission.

thanks to all for helping me in my first war mission.

This is pretty funny because back in the Silent Service days I used to dogfight with destroyers. Of course in that game you were aware of the exact position of every ship and could shoot torpedoes from any depth.

I always use the real-life rule that u-boats were absolutely forbidden to use the English Channel to transit to the Atlantic. In August 1939 they didn't want the Brits to know what they were up to, and after the war started they knew that the Royal Navy's largest base, Portsmouth, was in the Channel and the Dover end would almost certainly be mined.
You can get away with it in Sept. or Oct. 1939. After that, it's certain, sudden death.

You couldn't get away with it in real life. Even if you survived the passage your career would not survive your flaunting of orders.

I don't actually attempt it anymore. My first two patrols ever in vanilla SH3 saw me get through it but when I realized how heavily mined it is, haven't attempted it since...
