If you press the "." key you will get the ship camera view. The camera will follow the ship. If there are other ships in the area you can keep pressing that key to get those ship cameras. If there are no other ships in the area, I would only press it once as it may do strange things afterward. It works for planes also, if they are present.

Ok. When in doubt I claim basic.cfg.
