Visited Athens and the island "Aegina", 5 months ago, to meet the divers that where going to visit the U 133 outside Aegina.

Wow!!!
Any information about it's sinking?I knew that there was a German U-boat base in Salamis(not very far from Aegina),but i didn't know we had a U-boat wreck so near to us!!!

Yes, it was stationed in Salamis, and I also have the latest photos from the wreck, but I have to ask for a permission to share them here. Yes I have all the info about the incident.

All hands lost.......

Sunk by a mine,just read.Probably a German mine!!!That's called bad luck...or just awful navigation!

It hit the mine while on the surface. Tower hatch is open today on the wreck, and was probably also open at the time. German and italian navy units, searched the area for several days. The german war diaries wrote that nothing was found on the surface, after U 133 went down. Absoloutely nothing.

I wonder, as U 133 hit the mine, shouldnt there have been any crewmember at all on the watch ??
