Have been playing Silent hunter III for about 2 years now!What a game!!!
Using Mods from day 1,i really can't express how grateful i am to the members of this awesome forum,for making this game 1000 times better and epic as it gets!
I almost feel ashamed for this being only my first post in almost 2 years of playing!

Visited Athens and the island "Aegina", 5 months ago, to meet the divers that where going to visit the U 133 outside Aegina. :know:

Any information about it's sinking?I knew that there was a German U-boat base in Salamis(not very far from Aegina),but i didn't know we had a U-boat wreck so near to us!!!

Yes, it was stationed in Salamis, and I also have the latest photos from the wreck, but I have to ask for a permission to share them here. Yes I have all the info about the incident.

Sunk by a mine,just read.Probably a German mine!!!That's called bad luck...or just awful navigation!:-?

It hit the mine while on the surface. Tower hatch is open today on the wreck, and was probably also open at the time. German and italian navy units, searched the area for several days. The german war diaries wrote that nothing was found on the surface, after U 133 went down. Absoloutely nothing.

I wonder, as U 133 hit the mine, shouldnt there have been any crewmember at all on the watch ??

Hmmm,logical question.But i think mines are supposed to be almost invisible from surface level.Only the mine trigger is close to the surface.The rest of the mine is 1-2 meters below that.The sea at Saronikos Bay,that's what it's called,can be quite tricky.

If there ever where anybody on the watch as it hit the mine, they might have been thrown into the water, and the body (bodies) maybe never found, depending on the underwater stream, if that's correct english.....

The interesting thing about U 133, is that the explosion opened the bow, and bent it over to the starboard side, and in some way, it is now sealed from the bow. Only the top hatch is open...... the photos shows this strange incident, if I can call it strange......:hmmm:

Quite a story...very interesting indeed.
