Default Help for TMO 2.5 + Other Mods ...

I've been away from SH IV for a while .. and recently found out that Ducimus has been tweaking again resulting in TMO 2.5!

Well, I'm Back!!

My first comment is a great big THANK YOU!! for all that modders do, especially Ducimus for TMO!

I have been a big fan of TMO in the past (2.0 & 2.2) as well as RSRDC (V502 + V5xx Patch1).

I 'm in port at Midway (January 1944) and want to install and test drive TMO 2.5.

Using JSGME I've arranged the mods as follows ....

TMO 2.5
RSRDC_TMO V502
RSRDC V5xx Patch1
Fixed Zero Bomb Load RSRDC
Fixed CD Sonar RSRDc
Max Optics for TMO_2
OPCF green
TMO Visuals for RSRDC
3000 yd Bearing Tool (1440x)

My question is whether anyone can comment on if this is the correct order for adding these MODS, and whether they are still necessary with TMO 2.5? (e.g. Fixed Zero Bomb Load, FIxed CD Sonar RSRDC, TMO Visuals, etc)

I tried leaving out Max Optics IV and saw that its effects are not in TMO 2.5. That is, w/o Max Optics IV I got the stock optics for the Periscopes and TDC glasses.

Any comments and / or suggestions are welcomed!!

Thanks so much again to all the modders and what they've done to make a good game GREAT! And thanks to the forum commenters and the information and experiences they share so freely.

Bernie

P.S. What do I need to do to not be a "bilge rat?" LOL

B

PPS - I'm playing SH IV 1.5 of course. Athlon 64 4000 Processor ... 4 Gig memory , ditched the on board graphics and added a NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS card w/ 512MB DDR2, all running with Windows XP.

Everything looks copasetic to me BernieP2.
As long as Midway is your Home Port, you're OK. You have to be in home port to install TMO (I think).

Default Thanks for the Info ...

Thanks for the replys ...

Wernher -- thanks for the once-over of the Mods list.

I may move "TMO Visuals for RSRDC" up to just after RSRDC_V5xx Patch!" and see if that does anything ..

Max Optic IV is also so cool ...

Default Wernher ...which v. Trapp?

I assume your name on the board is a nod to: Korvettenkapitän Georg Ludwig Ritter von Trapp - K. u. K. Marine in command of U-5 and U-14 in the "war to end all wars"??

Just curious. Any relation?
Bernie

Actually, it was a combination tribute to Wernher Von Braun (the german rocket scientist) and the Von Trapp family (the famous real life singing family portrayed in The Sound Of Music movie).

Default The same von Trapps

Ritter v Trapp is one and the same with the Christopher Plummer character in the movie.

His first wife Agathe (with whom he had 7 children) was the granddaughter of Robert Whitehead who invented the first usable torpedo with gyro controls. His second wife (Agathe died of Scarlet Fever) was Maria (Julie Andrews) with whom he had three more children - the last born in Philadelphia after they came to the US in 1939.

The v Trapp family Lodge Matriarch was Maria who lived and worked in Stowe Vermont until 1987.

Nevertheless, v. Trapp was a renowned submarine skipper who racked up 13 confirmed kills (including a French Cruiser) and one capture (of a Greek freighter).

Good connections!
