I think you need to go into the same place you would go to see the status of the Windows Firewall and related security stuff. I can't remember what it's called, Security Settings or something? I think you can get there from the Control Panel.

Edit: found some instructions.

I was going to be all patronising and say something along the lines of if you don't know how to disable it you probably shouldn't be disabling it, but then I realised that when I first came across it I didn't know either, so I'll shut up and get back in my corner. Just make sure you keep up with your anti-virus/malware stuff.

*whispers* @FK - do us all a favour and post a picture of the worlds ugliest woman and pretend it's you - just to stop Vendor drooling all over my screen

thanks again for all your help. i have just realised why i have lost speech in game: i have been tinkering with TC AND, like a clever boy, i decided to Read TFM in SHCommander to discover that this can mess with speech and other stuff too - HEY, HOW ABOUT THAT!

...its amazing what you find in these manuals. anybody'd think they were written for the fun of it

What are these man-u-als you speak of

I didn't even know Commander came with a manual
I just keep reading Steve's posts to find out what else it can do.

Something to keep in mind when you install things that need file modifications afterwards: never install is so it ends up in C:\Program Files\ or C:\Program Files (x86)\

Alter the install path to folder that you choose. Usually you get the option of specifying it by clicking a customize button or something. Rarely are you forced to install into a specific folder.

x86 is the 32-bit program's home, whereas normal Program Files is now the 64-bit program's home.
