Do you have an old disk? If so you need the 'getstarforceoffmyinstall/noCD' thing

And either don't install in default location, or disable UAC.

Vendor is correct, if you are using Commander with GWX3 you also need to install the config files for the two of them to work together properly.

Also, it's unclear whether or not you installed a separate instance of JSGME on your computer... it's included with GWX3 so the most you should need to do is update to the latest version.

GWX3 should've created a desktop shortcut to the instance of JSGME that it installed in the game folder - when you open that, you should see all the optional GWX mods that it also put in the MODS folder it created for you.

Edit: and HBB is also correct about Starforce, if your copy of the game includes Starforce it will not want to play nice with Win7. Also UAC may interfere with attempts to mod games installed into the Programs folder so it's best to put your game installation elsewhere on your hard drive.

'it's included with GWX3 so the most you should need to do is update to the latest version.'

thanks frau that explains stuff, now i'll have to uninstall the other one and start again.

'Vendor is correct, if you are using Commander with GWX3 you also need to install the config files for the two of them to work together properly.'

not sure how to implement this when i get it - does it run its own course when installing or is there a 'readme' to follow - thanks Vendor

sorry. dont know what UAC is ?

cheers

What you want is this:

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=1421

It's a self-installer for the necessary config files.

UAC = User Account Control, which is either the greatest safeguard for your computer ever invented or a gigantic PITA or somewhere in between depending on one's individual perspective. On my rig, it's turned off - but from what I understand it can make modding any game installed in the Programs folders(s) a real headache since it's designed to prevent changes being made to files located there.
