The power to shut down all radio and TV broadcasts in the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave is in the hands of ONE man.
Oh no one person can get a federal agency to shut down transmissions and the people, well all they can do to stop it is...."There is nothing locals can do to stop it other than turn off their transmitters".....do it for him
As pointed out already this ability to control transmitions has been in effet for nearly 100 years.

Patently false.

That is exactly what is happening on Nov. 3rd. A system is now in place and being tested on Nov. 3rd to take control of all radio and TV broadcasts. Not just stop them or jam them. Take direct control by controlling the satellite uplinks by which all modern radio and television stations receive their content.

No such system has ever existed in the US.

Neither were personal global communication systems like satellite phones and internet to rally people to subversive causes. Do so and Uncle will track you down and if they can't, they now have the means to shut it down.

Fine by me.

Missing comma. That was an "Oh the drama" piss take.

That specific system was put in place in '94 wasn't it.

So under this "OMG the government controls the airwaves" system participating broadcasters are expected on notification to transmit the EAS stuff and non participating broadasters are expected to cease transmission or to find an EAS message and re broacast that.
You are right, this is shocking new development as it is under a provision from 1934

Really the system of licencing and regulation tranmissions hasn't existed since the early part of the last century
