I think I will just wait and obtain a better rig first this one is about 3 years old and it did not have best stuff even then.I had a copy of the first arma a while back that I had bought retail it ran pretty good and I had tons of mods that I liked so I tryed armaII not long after it first came out and to be honest at the levels I had to set it at arma1 looked/ran better I really hated that blur or fuzz that ArmAII had that I bet looks fine on a better rig but on a low end one it looked like ass.

At some point I removed both games and dont have them anymore I think my brother in law borrowed both of my Arma discs because I had removed them from my PC.I went ahead and bought the complete Arma I from Gamersgate it was on sale for $10.00 so I figured what the hell?I like it and its mods so I'll mess with that for now.

Little question is ACE Mod 1.10 compatible with OA with the British Armed Forces DLC addon installed?
Also are the any other mods people recommend for the game?

Cheers Dowly.

EDIT: Wow mighty complicated to install. Will leave that for another day.
Hmm keep getting a black menu screen when loading up the British forces addon.
I get the BI and ArmA II logos fine, but when it gets to the menu i sill have the menu and sound but the background is all black.
Its fine when i load up OA but only happens when i load up BAF.

I hope my current download (King Arthur Collection) finishes fast so I can start downloading this, been watching lets plays lately and I honestly can't wait to play.

Glad I got in on that Sun giveaway of Arma2.

Default Patching news

In short: Looks like BIS have finally solved, or are solving, the #1 issue most people have with the Arma-series of games: MP jerkiness. Patch 1.60 is delayed for a few weeks because of this, which doesn't sound like a bad tradeoff at all. Judging by what people say of the latest betas the fixes they've implemented indeed work.

Default Vikings longboat

I have set up a dedicated Arma 2:CO server. Its called "Vikings Longboat".

The server does not require any mods. My steam-handle: virtualvikingx

Come and play if you are looking for some relaxed arma fun!

I heard that the Project Reality mod beta is out. Has anyone tried this yet? I haven't looked into and as I haven't played for a while and thought this might give me something new to get my teeth into.

I have the same gripe about Arma2 as most others, not easy to find people who want to play it how it's supposed to be played.

I've done a few short PR tryouts, and imho it isn't quite worth all the buzz yet. It's very well done and there's nothing particularly wrong with it, but it's nothing groundbreaking either. It feels like any good usermade Arma2 gamemode, except that it's really easy to find PR servers with lots of players. The installation "process" is very straightforward and nothing gets overwritten, so you won't lose anything by trying.

edit: I haven't yet come across a PR game where it's played "like it's supposed to be played". The games I've taken part in have been far less chaotic than your average round of Domination, but still far from the well organized large coops at Tacticalgamer and a few other communities.

I run a regular game on Sunday nights (UK, 7-8pmish) with a few fellows from Eurogamer, pretty casual stuff. We run CO with ACE/ACRE/etc, though we'll drop the mods to welcome new faces to the group. Subsimmers are very welcome to tag along!

century_rain on steam (also in the subsim group) if anyone wants in

Ran games every Tuesday untill a few months ago (has it been months? I dunno). Think we should get something going again, was always fun with the SubSim lot.

Hop on with Viking, maybe a game on Sunday... been sitting idle on the HD for too long.

That would be well cool. My problem is my location. Very rarely do I get a decent ping anywhere further west than Germany, the international connections out of Thailand go through a government bottleneck so most players I encounter online are germans, russians, aussies. Not to mention the time difference- I'm 6/7 hours ahead of GMT...

Would be good to have a platoon of submarine commanders! I guess we'd be hiding in bushes the whole time, taking a shot that we can't possibly miss, and then running away!

Ha, clearly you've never witnessed any of our suicidal unsupported charges into positions held by vastly superior enemy forces.

We should really get back to playing this at some point. After they release this fancy new patch, I guess?
