Default World's tallest 'Ferris wheel' opens on top of Canton Tower in Guangzhou, China

THE world will truly be spinning beneath your feet on this new ride. The world's highest "Ferris wheel” has opened on top of the 450 metre Canton Tower in Guangzhou, China, promising a view, and ride, like no other.
Flying in the face of traditional vertical Ferris wheel rides, thrill-seekers can jump on board one of 16 transparent pods that circle around the edge of the tower’s roof at just a 15-degree incline.
The ride lasts between 20 and 40 minutes and can hold a total of 96 people. It will cost 130 Yuan ($19).
Built using a macromolecule material, it claims to offer 360-degree “clear” views - when weather permits.

What about air pollution and smog?

More of a carousel than a ferris wheel, looks good though. And the tower's lighting looks great at night - all towers should be lit this way

Me too, thats a bit high for me. Hope they factored in high winds, or it will be a free fall simulator.

Make it three. I might try it if someone threw enough money at me, but it would have to be a lot.

I would agree. This is a misleading headline. This carousel looks about 60 feet in diameter on its 15 degree side. Hardly the words tallest Ferris wheel.

That's like saying that the Ferris wheel in Denver, CO is "almost one mile high"

With the track record Chinese engineers have, I'll pass and no amount of drinks will change my mind.

Guangshou, formerly known as Canton. Sorta like Mumbai, formerly known as Bombay. I think all these rising Asian giants are changing their big city names to cornfuze us.

As for riding this thing I think I'd rather go gamble all my money in Macau, still known as Macau.

Misleading headline? Maybe that's why the Ferris Wheel is in inverted commas.
