What was the BB?

There are also Ships in Gibraltar

The Nelson and 2 Southampen Ships, a mid-size Tanker, one big freighter
and couple of med-size freighters.

with few Tropedos you can make around 76 000 BRT score on your records.

I am currently in the Spring 41 and it is still possible to sneak into this habour.

I have sworn off of harbor raiding. It's too cheap, I feel. It's more satisfying if you ambush a Task Force...

Till now, Gibraltar is easy to sneak in and easy to sneak out.
Also the defence is very weak too (only one ELCO-Boat, a armed Trawler, a search-aircraft and a Destroyer comes later).
And they looking most on the wrong places.

Back to Topic:
It is about the capital ship (in this case the NELSON) why I just do it.
I try to follow the Sistership Rodey with 23 KN but was not able to catch her.

Also it would be suicide to attack over water.

Edit:
Harbor Raidings are dangerous anyway. Once I got lucky not to hit a mine when I entered Dünnkirchen, but when I try to left it via the "main entrance" I was hunted down by a Destroyer or I was hit by a mine.

I got lucky that Dünnkirchen had a 2nd entrance / exit what I could left (almost) undetected.

I like ambushing TFs, too. It's more fun when the warships actually sink rather then drop down half a meter into the water and then rest on the harbor floor.

On occasion, there's also a County-class heavy cruiser. And don't forget the troop ship.
