Work has a conveyor belt toaster, there are two settings, speed of the conveyor belt and the heat of the elements. In reality though there are three settings.

If the toast comes out smoking a little that means it's done. Generally speaking, the best toast is toast that is scorched to somewhere between "Yummy" and "Smoldering".
